Barb is originally from the Edwardsville area. After living in St. Louis, MO and Jacksonville, FL she returned to the area to be closer to family. Barb is a Radiation Therapist with 30 years of healthcare experience. This experience has given her an immense amount of compassion and empathy. She was immediately drawn to GYSSD after learning about the cause in an obedience class taught by Nicole. For now, she is more than happy to donate her time and efforts in any way to help this amazing organization.

Treasurer

Carrie Davini is a St. Louis resident that has been tattooing in the Edwardsville area for 17 years. After seeing the effects of PTSD in her personal life, she understands the changes these service dogs make. Her goal is to give back what has been so freely given to her.

Originally from Michigan, Kelly relocated to Illinois as a military dependent. Married to Gary, an Air Force retiree, Kelly has two grown sons, Travis and Jordan, one who is in school to become a police officer. Trauma Resilience Counselor

I enlisted into the Army in June 1980 and remained until May 1985 during which, I was stationed at Ft. Stewart as an Infantryman and Combat Medic with numerous additional specialized trainings.

Once home, I was recruited by a law enforcement officer to pursue a career in the same. To date, I have been involved in law enforcement for more than 30 years in various positions from patrol, undercover, detective, and training officer.

I earned my Associates in Criminal Justice, in 1995, Bachelors in Behavioral Sciences 2000, and Masters in Clinical Counseling in 2012.

Currently I am pursuing my doctorate in Clinical Neuro / Trauma Psychology.

2001 I enlisted into the Army Guard where I still remain with 8 different MOSs. Currently, I am serving as the division CBRNE NCO. During my time in the guard I have attended numerous school house tours as cadre.

  • 01/2005-7/2006, MiTT Team #4 in Yusifiyah, & Basrah, Iraq – (Team Leader),
  • 2006/2007, Yuma, Arizona/Mexican Border in support of Operation Jump Start, as a (platoon sergeant).
  • 2008-2009, Kosovo (Team Leader)
  • 2014-2015 Afghanistan (Team Leader) placed on loan to the KAS Hospital in the PTSD Clinic.

I am a Train the Trainer for Master Resiliency (MRT) and Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP), and Suicide Prevention Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

At the start of my masters I revealed that I wanted to incorporate equine, canine, and horticultural therapies as a modality. As experienced while growing up I KNOW the value and how it soothed the beast within.

When I started working at the Vet Center, I saw firsthand the (further validation) just how effective and the value of canines were/are. I was introduced to a Veteran with a support dog and I pursue a conversation with the owner who gave me a business card to Got Your Six Support Dogs. I followed up and after meeting with the executive director, an alliance was formed. I anticipate much growth as my time working with Got Your Six Support Dogs continues. I know Got Your Six Support Dogs is a passion and energy to be reckoned with. I will do my part to be that force multiplier.
